FAQ

Is AI appropriate for kids under 13?

AI can be an amazing creativity booster—think drawing, storytelling, and simple coding—but supervision and time limits are a must. Just because an app is "kid-friendly" doesn't automatically mean it's safe or high-quality. For a deeper look, check out our "Learning Apps" pages and our posts on AI safety. Ironically, sometimes keeping kids away from the screen is the best way to prepare them for the AI era.

What makes your Bay Area school reviews different from GreatSchools or Niche?

We go way beyond public ratings and Niche/GreatSchools data. We spotlight newer schools and fresh STEM/AI programs (like Alpha School) that barely have any reviews elsewhere yet. Being right here in the Bay Area means we hear real parent stories firsthand. That said, experiences vary by student, so we always encourage you to use our reviews as a starting point for your own research.

How do you choose which Bay Area schools or classes to review?

Every kid is different—distance from home, budget, and whether they need sports, arts, or social-emotional support all matter. We highlight what’s actually available near you (Pleasanton, Dublin, Fremont, etc.) and believe social-emotional learning and fun activities often matter more than coding alone. The "teacher vibe" makes a huge difference too—the same school can feel completely different depending on the classroom. We just want to give you the real picture so you can choose what feels right.

How are your weekend events different from other local calendars?

We hand-pick events that combine real fun with future-ready learning (AI workshops, robotics days, maker fairs). We personally check photos and safety info. The big difference? We are your "AI + Fun" filter. While other sites list every park opening or library storytime, we focus on events that help your kids build the skills they’ll need for tomorrow.

Are your recommendations sponsored or paid?

The schools, events, apps, and activities we feature are chosen based on public reviews and real community feedback. We do not take payment to review, so our recommendations stay completely unbiased and focused on quality. If we ever partner with a camp, school, or tool for a “Featured” or “Sponsored” slot, we’ll clearly label it and explain exactly why we think it’s a great fit for Bay Area kids including ours — we only recommend what we’d trust for our own kids.

What Parents Say

Parents looking proud, reflecting on their child's learning journey
I appreciate that the school listings feel neutral and not promotional. It’s clear a lot of research went into them.

Parents looking proud, reflecting on their child's learning journey
I took my 5-year-old to try one of the AI art projects from the site and loved it. It was educational. I use AI daily and am glad to know about these activities without additional subscription

We were researching math programs and ended up discovering camps we hadn’t heard of before. The listings are surprisingly thorough.

There are some subjects that our kid didn't show any interests, but once he saw what he could build using logics, she started asking to do more! AI projects can help you motivate your child.

Our kids love building but many lego robotics/coding school are hit or miss. I wish I read those info before enrolling them to all those schools.

I love how this site emphasizes parent participation with AI, and how it breaks down the steps to create cool things. Our 9 year old and teenager love it, I end up creating a lot of cool things myself. I can’t recommend it enough!

I love the school recommendations for our neurodivergent kids, Thank you!

I use AI daily, and it occurred to me that our kids should try it. Aifunlab made it easy by providing simple ideas for kids and recommending learning apps. I've actually stopped driving her to Chinese school; while the poems and culture are great, the logistics are difficult. She prefers the conversational approach offered by apps, which she finds useful when she travels.
